Confidential reporting tool FIBA Speak Up Platform goes live

    Short Read

New confidential reporting tool underlines FIBA's commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport.

MIES (Switzerland) - The new FIBA Speak Up Platform has been launched, with this secure, confidential and dedicated reporting channel available for anyone who wishes to raise concerns within the sport that may require a review by FIBA.

Designed to ensure individuals can report both responsibly and in good faith, the FIBA Speak Up Platform provides a trusted and secure channel for highlighting concerns around safeguarding, potential misconduct, unethical behaviour, integrity matters, or any other related issues.

It not only allows reports to be submitted confidentially, but where appropriate, it enables the option for protected follow-up communication between the reporter and relevant case manager.

Reports submitted through the FIBA Speak Up Platform will all be reviewed in accordance with the applicable FIBA regulations, policies and internal procedures.

Importantly, the FIBA Speak Up Platform is not intended to replace other reporting procedures such as the International Olympic Committee's Integrity and Compliance Hotline and WADA Platform, all of which FIBA will continue to monitor closely.

National Federations have already been encouraged to promote the FIBA Speak Up Platform with their relevant stakeholders and encourage its responsible use where appropriate.

This includes the likes of clubs, players, coaches, officials, administrators and other persons involved in basketball activities.

The investment in the new FIBA Speak Up Platform reflects FIBA's continued commitment to delivering high standards for safeguarding and a dedication to protecting the integrity of basketball participants in its competitions - something which forms part of FIBA's strategic objective of Sustainability and Innovation.
