MANAMA (Bahrain) - The FIBA Mid-Term Congress 2025 will be the largest on record as more than 160 National Federations prepare to gather at the award-winning Exhibition World Bahrain.
Taking place on May 16 and 17, this event marks a significant return to the FIBA Mid-Term Congress as an in-person gathering, four years after the last edition, which was conducted virtually.
It will also be held alongside the highly anticipated FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2025 enshrinement ceremony, which will see eight new members inducted.
The FIBA Mid-Term Congress 2025 will be led by FIBA President, Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani and FIBA Secretary General, Andreas Zagklis. It will also be attended by His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and His Highness Sheikh Issa bin Ali Al-Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, along with other dignitaries.
On day one of the Mid-Term Congress, the agenda will focus on delivering several plenary sessions for delegates, including presentations on new services for National Federations, the FIBA Academy, FIBA's digital growth, the expansion of eFIBA, and discovering AI-powered digital and media asset management solutions.
On the second day, attendees will participate in breakout sessions covering various topics, including FIBA's strategic priority Women in Basketball, the FIBA Plus program, young players and the NCAA, FIBA 3x3, and Olympic Solidarity.
The FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be held on May 17 at the Bahrain National Theatre and will see the induction of seven players and one coach, honoring their incredible accomplishments in the sport. These are Alphonse Bile (Côte d'Ivoire), Andrew Bogut (Australia), Leonor Borrell (Cuba), Pau Gasol (Spain), Ticha Penicheiro (Portugal), Ratko Radovanovic (Serbia), Dawn Staley (USA) and Mike Krzyzewski (USA).
The FIBA Mid-Term Congress 2025 will be streamed live on FIBA's YouTube and LinkedIn channels commencing at 8:30 (GMT+2) on Friday, May 16.
