MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA has agreed terms with beIN SPORTS for the upcoming media rights cycle in France, ensuring the broadcaster cements its position as the home of international basketball in the country.
Fans can watch all the action from major FIBA tournaments on beIN SPORTS, including both the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027. Starting with the highly anticipated FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers this month and rolling until the end of FIBA EuroBasket 2029, the new collaboration comes in the wake of a highly successful broadcasting of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 by beIN SPORTS.
With beIN SPORTS having also recently renewed an agreement with the NBA, and with FIBA announcing earlier this year that France national teams games from major events will be broadcast live on TF1, there's no doubt about the continued growth and popularity of the sport in the country.
The partnership kicks off with the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers on Friday, November 28, and will include an opportunity for fans to follow the France men's team as they host neighbors Belgium and then take to the road to face Finland in an exciting matchup on Monday, December 1. Then, in March 2026, the women's team will enjoy some passionate support on home soil in Lyon-Villeurbanne at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament.
Fans will also enjoy the 2027 and 2029 FIBA Continental competitions on beIN SPORTS, which include the FIBA EuroBasket and FIBA Women's EuroBasket and their respective qualifiers, and a selection of youth team games.
Frank Leenders, Director General of FIBA Media and Marketing Services, stated: "We are delighted to have secured this important collaboration with beIN SPORTS. It means FIBA now has an enviable broadcast position within the French market, when also taking into account the TF1 agreement signed several months ago.
"We are very happy that fans in France will be able to access the highest level of basketball from the biggest and best FIBA competitions, with beIN SPORTS delivering a high quality service for the fans.
Florent Houzot, beIN SPORTS Programs & On-Air Director, stated: "After recently renewing our NBA broadcasting rights, we are proud to be able to offer our subscribers the best of international men's and women's basketball with the acquisition of the most exciting FIBA competitions, including all of the French national team's qualifying matches, the FIBA Basketball World Cups in both 2026 and 2027, and the next editions of the FIBA EuroBaskets. We are delighted to be able to continue working with FIBA over the next four years."
This agreement was negotiated by FIBA Media, the strategic partnership between FIBA and DAZN.
