    Mentoring Program for Female Coaches

EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF FEMALE COACHES

In 2021, FIBA Europe piloted the "Mentoring program for female coaches and referees" under the Erasmus funding scheme. After this pilot, in 2022, FIBA Europe decided to keep the mentoring part for coaches as a permanent program, and the referees were integrated into a separate strategy.

The Women's Summit in Postojna became the reference event for actions implemented as part of the Mentoring Program for Female Coaches.

Following the annual Summit event, a selected group of coaches undergoes a one-year mentoring program that includes regular online mentoring sessions and visits to their mentors in their working environment, joining and shadowing them for one week at a time.

    Objective:

To provide an opportunity to European female coaches to improve their competencies and acquire new skills through learning mobility by participating in the European Women's Basketball Summit and a follow-up mentoring program.
