MUNICH (Germany) - The second visit of the Mentoring Program for Female Coaches in the 2023-24 season was hosted by Basket Landes from December 4-7.

The four-day trip included taking in the EuroLeague Women meeting between Basket Landes and ZVVZ USK Praha as both teams are coached by two of the program's mentors.

Julie Barenes of Landes and Praha's head coach Natalia Hejkova had their practices shadowed by their mentees, while additional activities included a visit to the club's academy to meet the coaches and take in sessions.

The program - which has become a permanent feature within FIBA Europe following a successful pilot - primarily focuses on female coaches with a desire to become professional coaches in the future.

Anna Lakloth of Hungary, Finland's Emmi Ruokonen, Olga Gonzalez of Spain and Portugal's Mariana Rodrigues were the coaches that travelled having been selected for the program at the 16th edition of the Women's Basketball Summit in Postonja, Slovenia in the summer.

The previous visit took place in October when mentees travelled to Prague for a five-day trip that also included the first EuroLeague Women encounter between Praha and Landes.

The program's last visit for the current season is scheduled to take place in April for the EuroLeague Women Final Four.
