TASHKENT (Uzbekistan) – Kazakhstan completed a double of Sub-Zone U18 titles in the Central Asia Basketball Association after their men’s team swept all the three games in the CABA U18 Championship 2026 last week.
Kazakhstan defeated all their three games – against hosts Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan – by convincing margins thus qualifying as the Sub-Zone’s representatives at the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026 later this year.

The Kazakhstan U18 women had completed a similar clean sweep late last month to qualify as the Sub-Zone representatives to the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2026 – Division B.
Point guard Sayan Mamutov was the star in Kazakhstan returning averages of 18.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Darim Sultanov provided him support averaging 14 points per game.
Under the boards, Aman Tlembay proved a tall order for Kazakhstan’s opponents the power forward pulling down 10 rebounds per game.
Timur Khodjaev’s 18 points per game along with 2.7 assists per game led Uzbekistan’s scoring with Ali Toychiev’s 12.3 rebounds per game led all rebounds for the competition.
