FIBA EuroBasket 2025 co-hosts confirm partner countries

    Lithuania will play the Group Phase in Tampere

    Cyprus, Finland, Latvia and Poland have each selected a partner ahead of the March 27 draw.

    MUNICH (Germany) - Greece, Lithuania, Estonia and Iceland have been officially confirmed as the respective partner national federations of the four FIBA EuroBasket 2025 co-hosts.

    Following the announcement, those four national teams will be placed in the same groups as their respective partners at the official draw, that takes place at 14:00 CET on March 27 in Riga, Latvia.

    Lithuania, who are ranked 6th in Europe according to the recently updated FIBA World Ranking Men, presented by Nike, will play in the same group as Finland, in Tampere; Greece, the 8th ranked team in Europe, will play in the same group as Cyprus, in Limassol; Estonia, ranked 21st in Europe, will play in Riga alongside their neighbors Latvia; Iceland, who rank 26th, will land in the Katowice group, hosted by Poland.

    Partnership agreements were first implemented at FIBA EuroBasket 2015 and have been embraced by all the federations who have been selected to co-host the flagship tournament since, as an invaluable tool that facilitates the organization and logistical of such a big event.

    The Group Phase of FIBA EuroBasket 2025, in Limassol, Tampere, Riga and Katowice, will tip off on August 27, while the Final Phase will take place in Arena Riga, with the European champions set to be crowned on September 14.
