LECHAIO (Greece) - The FIBA Masters Open 2026 in Greece has drawn to a close after some epic Finals, with the inaugural event setting the tone for future editions after it proved to be a huge hit with those who attended.
Attracting almost 1,000 players from 28 different countries spread across all five FIBA regions, it was an outstanding celebration of the sport, also enjoyed by officials, volunteers, families, friends and fans.
The newest addition to the FIBA calendar and hosted by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the FIBA Masters Open 2026 witnessed nine days of action across the various venues in the Peloponnese and Attica region.
Players in their 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond, all doing what they have always thrived on - lacing up their game shoes, competing and showing their love of the game. FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis had encouraged participants to enjoy the experience and write history with friends - and they did.
Having already seen the first ever 3x3 Finals wrapped up, there was a jam-packed competitive Sunday with no fewer than nine Finals across many of the different age brackets, and then followed by the Closing Ceremony,

Finally, thanks are owed to many and not least, the Hellenic Basketball Federation and local authorities of the Corinth and Attica region, whose hospitality set the tone from the opening night in Xylokastro.
Also to the volunteers, referees, officials, and staff whose work made the nine days across multiple venues run smoothly. And above all, to the players and their loved ones who traveled from every corner of the world to attend. The FIBA Masters Open will return in the future, with the details of the next edition to be confirmed soon
