    ADMINISTRATION

    Administration roles act as the backbone throughout the entire organization. With a clear focus on priorities, they support processes, projects and daily deadlines, coordinate information flow within the team and interface between the business and external stakeholders. As the go-to person on the team, Administrators support the business in a multitude of ways to help actualize.

    COMMUNICATIONS

    The Communications team acts as the point guard, orchestrating the flow of information, setting up key plays through media relations, and ensuring all departments are in sync. They play both offense by promoting positive stories and fan engagement and defense by protecting the brand’s image. With great court vision, they anticipate opportunities and quickly respond to breaking news, helping the organization score big in the public eye.

    COMPETITIONS

    The Competitions team is in charge of preparing the FIBA Calendar for both men’s and women’s competitions. They are focused on developing competition formats and keeping regulations up to date for all global events and qualifiers. Working closely with National Federations, the Competitions Unit ensures that each tournament runs smoothly and efficiently. They are committed to managing all game-day essentials—such as quality basketball equipment, effective game operations, and a successful conclusion to each tournament— ensuring each and every team can perform at their best.

    EVENTS & OPERATIONS

    The Events and Operations teams are like the center players in a team, leading the organization of FIBA’s competitions worldwide by implementing the right playbook and ensuring all players contribute with their best skillset. They play defense by managing risks and solving on-the-spot problems, while on offense, they push hard to deliver successful, exciting events and create fan experiences that drive engagement. With strong teamwork and full-court vision, they set the stage for the entire organization to shine.

    EQUIPMENT & VENUE CENTRE

    The Equipment and Venue Center acts as the scouting team, evaluating and approving new gear to ensure it meets the highest standards for player performance and safety. They leverage innovative technologies to push the game forward, enhancing everything from player training to fan engagement, much like refining a playbook for maximum impact. By forging partnerships with the industry, academia, and as well as with broader basketball stakeholders, they help grow the sport, creating a winning environment for basketball at every level.

    FIBA FOUNDATION

    The FIBA Foundation team plays a crucial role behind the scenes, amplifying the organization’s social and legacy initiatives. They play offense by creating Basketball For Good programs that use the power of our sport to address social issues globally. With a strong court vision, they connect the organization to the broader community, building goodwill and lasting relationships.

    While on defense, they preserve the organization's history and traditions, safeguarding its legacy while promoting the sport's rich cultural heritage to inspire future generations. By connecting the past to the present, it ensures the organization's story remains vital to its success.

    FIBA MEDIA & MARKETING

    The FIBA Media & Marketing team is the engine behind FIBA's media and marketing game plan, driving all partnerships and activations for the FIBA competitions. By leveraging commercial partnerships and securing revenue through broadcast rights and global sponsorships, they are generating revenue for FIBA and the sport of basketball, maximizing exposure and promotion of the game, and increasing the value of FIBA's properties over time, scoring big for the future of basketball and ensuring our sport can shine around the globe.

    FINANCE

    The Finance team plays a critical role acting as the playmakers behind the scenes. They handle the budget, ensuring that every dollar is allocated to support key initiatives. Just like a strong defense, they safeguard the FIBA's financial health by monitoring expenses and revenues, ensuring there’s always a solid game plan in place. With their eyes on the financial scoreboard, they provide insights helping to drive decisions that keep the organization on track for success.

    HR

    The HR team acts as the point guard, orchestrating the smooth operation of the organization by recruiting top talent and ensuring team cohesion. They serve as head coaches, developing and elevating individuals while equipping managers and teams with the resources and environment they need to thrive. With a focus on individual strengths, the HR team assists leaders in fostering collaboration and providing essential support, enabling every employee to perform at their best and contribute to a vibrant workplace.

    IT

    The IT team acts as the playmaker for FIBA, delivering quality technology services that keep the game running smoothly and cost-effectively at HQ and across regions. They support global initiatives and projects, collaborating with partners to enhance the basketball community’s digital game plan while maintaining robust infrastructure and seamless communication. By providing expertise in IT and fostering strong teamwork within the department, they ensure that FIBA stays ahead in the fast-paced world of international basketball.

    FIBA's Legal Affairs team acts as the organization’s defensive specialist, ensuring compliance with global regulations and safeguarding it against potential legal challenges. They meticulously draft and review policies, similar to crafting strategic playbooks, to ensure FIBA remains aligned with international standards and principles of fair play. Additionally, the department functions as impartial referees, adeptly resolving conflicts, mediating disputes, and ensuring that all basketball parties adhere to the established rules of the game in and outside the court.

    NATIONAL FEDERATIONS

    FIBA Plus is the umbrella for all FIBA National Federations Development initiatives, designed to help Federations reach their full potential by continuously improving as organizations to grow the game in their respective countries and compete internationally at the highest possible level. At the same time, the National Federations Department is dedicated to supporting the growth of each individual member of the basketball community and thereby helping the overall development of basketball. Together with the National Federations, they are driving basketball forward and making every shot count!

    PLAYERS UNIT

    The Players' Unit drives all player-related matters, both on and off the court. They enhance basketball skills through development programs and offer educational opportunities that prepare players for life during and after basketball. Overseeing international transfers, they create a regulated environment for all basketball stakeholders. They also ensure eligibility compliance, preserving the integrity and fairness of our sport. With great court vision, they balance player development and regulatory oversight.
