Macron unveiled as Official Technical Supplier in Europe

    Press Release
The partnership with Macron will cover FIBA's European club and youth national team competitions

The initial four-year agreement takes effect with this summer’s Youth EuroBaskets.

MUNICH (Germany) - Italian sportswear firm Macron will be the Official Technical Supplier of a wide array of FIBA's European club and youth national team competitions through at least June 2029, FIBA Europe announced on Tuesday.

The partnership is effective immediately and hence the 16 Youth EuroBasket tournaments (U20, U18 and U16) for men and women that take place through July and August are set to be the first competitions where table officials wear Macron uniforms.

Starting with the new club season in September, the agreement will expand to also include referees' uniforms.

Macron will therefore provide the clothing equipment for game officials in EuroLeague Women, EuroCup Women and FIBA Europe Cup games until the end of their respective 2028-29 campaigns, as well as in the upcoming FIBA Women's EuroBasket Qualifiers, FIBA EuroBasket Pre-Qualifiers, and FIBA European Championships for Small Countries.

"We are excited to have a leading European brand onboard as our Official Technical Supplier," said Kamil Novak, FIBA Executive Director Europe.

"With so many basketball clubs and national teams in Europe and beyond donning Macron kit, the company has a well-deserved reputation in the basketball community. Our collaboration is therefore an almost natural fit, as we demand excellence and a constant drive for innovation in our competitions," Mr. Novak added.

Gianluca Pavanello, Macron CEO, said: "We are pleased to begin this new partnership with FIBA Europe, which further confirms the leadership position Macron is gaining in the sportswear sector. After years of successful collaboration with top federations — such as UEFA in football — we continue to prove ourselves as a reliable and high-level partner, and we are grateful for the trust FIBA Europe has placed in our work. For the referees, we are committed to creating garments that combine style, quality and performance. Those values are essential to the game of basketball, just as they are central to our philosophy, and we are confident that together we will take the sport to the next level."

The eagerly awaited 2025 Youth EuroBaskets got underway on Friday, with the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket in Spain, the FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket, Division B in Lithuania and the FIBA U16 EuroBasket, Division C in Albania lifting the curtain on this summer’s action.
