CHENNAI (India) – Tamil Nadu won all their four games to romp through to the top place in the recently concluded SABA Clubs championship.
The triumph helped the Indian National champions to their second successive entry into the FIBA WASL Final 8, where they will be joined by the champions of Central Asia and the three top teams each from the ongoing FIBA WASL Gulf League and FIBA WASL West Asian League.
Tamil Nadu began their campaign with a 107-41 win against Bhutanese club Thimpu Magics followed by a 110-54 triumph over Colombo BC of Sri Lanka. They then defeated Nepalese outfit Times Club 118-44 before wrapping up their sojourn beating T-Rex of Maldives 106-49.
Colombo finished runners-up with a 3-1 record with wins of 71-66 over Times Club, 79-74 against T-Rex and 98-51 against Thimpu.
Times Club were third after winning 87-59 against Thimpu and 67-59 against T-Rex.
T-Rex avoided the wooden spoon after beating Thimpu 71-47.
FIBA
