BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia continued its efforts in promoting strength and conditioning by successfully organizing Level 1 Sports Performance Specialist (SPS) course in Jordan recently.
Twenty-six participants attended the course in Amman, under the auspices of the Jordan Basketball Federation held between September 15-16.
“This initiative represents an important step in developing coaches’ skills and qualifying them to deliver effective and safe training for athletes,” said Amro Al-Wageei.
“The course brought many benefits, including enhancing our theoretical understanding of training principles, improving practical skills, and learning how to design and execute programs,” he said.
“It also emphasized effective communication with athletes, injury prevention, and providing proper first aid.”
“The program was rich and comprehensive, equipping us with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to design and implement safe, fundamental physical training programs with a strong focus on injury prevention,” said Baker Mohammad.
“These competencies strengthen the trust between us and the athletes we work with. We are very eager to advance to the next level and look forward with great enthusiasm to the Level 2 program to continue our professional development at the highest standards.”
