BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office Asia continued its work towards elevating officiating standards across the continent by successfully organizing two Game Officials workshops in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia Basketball Federation (SBF).

Held across Dammam and Jeddah from October 15-20, the workshop drew 35 male and female participants for an immersive six-day program.

The workshop covered a broad range of topics, combining theoretical knowledge with practical training, including the latest updates related to refereeing and basketball rules.

Aside from game management and communication techniques, the workshops emphasized video analysis, game situation reviews, and physical fitness.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the FIBA Regional Office Asia for the invaluable support in organizing these workshops for 35 referees," expressed Dr. Ghassan Tashkandi, President of the SBF.

"Their support greatly contributed to the success of these events, enhancing the skills and knowledge of our officials. We are looking forward to future collaborations.”

Further workshops are planned across various countries as part of FIBA Regional Office Asia’s ongoing mission to elevate officiating standards across the region.
