BEIRUT (Lebanon) – The FIBA Regional Office-Asia conducted a workshop introducing the operations of FIBA MAP, the online system to the National Federations of Vietnam and Myanmar during the past week.
The FIBA MAP (FIBA Management & Administration Platform) is the online FIBA information system to manage all information and data related to basketball. It offers a centralized system to collect and share information between NF & FIBA and support related processes.
The workshop in Vietnam (Jan 21) saw six participants, including three women getting trained. At Myanmar (Jan 26) five participants attended, including one woman.
The participants were taken through the details of FIBA eligibility rules, FIBA uniforms guidelines, Players' international transfers and FIBA Accreditation platform EMS training and venues zoning system.
“This knowledge is all new to me, and I find it really useful as I’ve learned about international standards for competition uniform and had the chance to practice designing and editing! Definitely worth learning,” said Duy Khanh Tran who attended the workshop in Vietnam.
His colleague Thi Kim Tram Pham said, “This class gave me new perspectives as a coach! The atmosphere in the class was comfortable, and the FIBA expert’s explanations were easy to understand too.”
“I have learned about many platforms’ functionalities; eligibility rules, registration, accreditation, player transfer and so on. I do believe that this training will be very beneficial for the basketball operations in Myanmar,” said Yan Lin Aung.
