Three women among 15 participants in Zouk Mosbeh; 14 take the course in Beirut

BEIRUT (Lebanon)- The FIBA Regional Office-Asia recently conducted back-to-back WABC coaching clinics in Lebanon. The first one at Zouk Mosbeh saw three women among 15 participants, while the next one at Beirut had 14 coaching aspirants. Both courses were conducted by WABC instructor Safa Ali Kamalian.

The candidates for the courses were chosen after internal test conducted by the Lebanese Basketball Federation.

“This experience has been truly transformative, equipping me with invaluable knowledge, practical coaching techniques, and a deeper understanding of the game,” said Mariella Bechara, a participant at the clinic.

“The clinic not only enhanced my technical and tactical skills but also reinforced the importance of teamwork, discipline, and continuous learning in coaching. Being part of this program has been an absolute privilege, and I am excited to apply everything I have learned to help grow and develop basketball in my community” she added.

“Getting the chance to learn and level up my knowledge is something I needed to have throughout my basketball coaching career. I want to also mention that having conversations with fellow coaches and instructors and sharing thoughts and knowledge makes us improve as individuals to lift the basketball community for the better,” said Kaissar Lahoud.

“Attending the FIBA Level 1 Coaching Clinic was a transformative experience for me,” said Mohammad Harb.

“It was the first time I participated in a coaching clinic where I truly felt that I was learning valuable insights that could significantly improve and develop my coaching skills,” he added.

“I learned when and what to teach different age categories,” said Tony El Mir.
