    Fabian Borro was elected President of FIBA Americas Regional Office in May 2023

    Fabian Borro was elected as FIBA Americas President in May 2023.

    He held important positions in the world of Argentine basketball for many years and had extensive experience within FIBA.

    Borro became President of the Argentine Basketball Confederation (CAB) in December 2019. He had the support and backing of 14 Federations.

    Before being elected president of CAB, he was President of the Obras Sanitarias Club (Buenos Aires), the Metropolitan Basketball Federation (Febamba), and the Association of Clubs (AdC), the entity that organizes the National League (first division of the Argentine basketball league), the Argentine League (second division), and the Women's League. In addition, he served as director of logistics support for AySA, a company responsible for providing water and sewage services to the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

    At the time of his election as FIBA Americas President, Borro said: "I am honored to have been chosen by my peers in the Americas to represent the future of basketball in this region, and I will continue to work to develop the sport across the continent."
