    Young FIBA ​​talent participate in 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy

    MIAMI (United States) – A total of 40 FIBA ​​athletes (20 boys and 20 girls) participated in the 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy for future student-athletes, which took place in South Carolina.

    MIAMI (United States) – A total of 40 FIBA ​​athletes (20 boys and 20 girls) participated in the 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy for future student-athletes, which took place between July 23rd and 29th, at the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States.

    The young athletes, from countries such as Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela, South Sudan, and Mozambique, were selected by the FIBA ​​Youth Development Program (YDP) and through athlete evaluations in FIBA ​​youth competitions. 

    Coaches from Divisions I, II, and III of the NCAA attended the activity to observe and interact with the young athletes.

    The NCAA College Basketball Academy is a development initiative that pairs high-level basketball competition with life skills instruction. It offers a unique opportunity for young elite athletes to showcase their talents in front of most NCAA universities and meet other basketball players their age.

    Participants and their parents or chaperones also attended life skills courses about NCAA eligibility and compliance; the recruitment process; name, image, and likeness opportunities; agents; the transfer portal; and the path of opportunity to professional basketball.
