FIBA Africa Youth Competitions offer a platform for young basketball talent to showcase their skills and compete at the highest regional level.
The FIBA U16 AfroBasket, FIBA U16 Women’s AfroBasket, FIBA U18 AfroBasket and FIBA U18 Women’s AfroBasket are tournaments for boys and girls, that provide opportunities for athletes to develop their abilities, learn from experienced coaches, and represent their countries with pride.
The FIBA AfroBasket in both age groups serve as qualifiers to the FIBA U17 World Cup and FIBA U19 World Cup youth events the following year.
The top two boy's and girls teams progress through, with the third and fourth placed girls teams qualifying for the FIBA U16 AfroBasket and FIBA U18 AfroBasket the next youth events.
These competitions contribute to the growth of basketball in Africa and identify potential future stars for the sport.
