BEIRUT (Lebanon)- Fourteen participants, including one woman attended the WABC Level 1 clinic conducted by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia in Iraq the past week.
The clinic was held under the aegis of the newly formed Iraq Basketball Federation from June 20-25, 2026 under the supervision of FIBA Asia Coaching Instructor Safa Ali Kamalian at Baghdad.
“The FIBA WABC Level 1 Coaching Course held in Baghdad was an outstanding opportunity for Iraqi coaches to enhance their knowledge and develop their coaching skills in accordance with international standards,’ said Ali Abdullah Hamad.
“The course successfully combined theoretical sessions with practical on-court applications, creating a valuable learning environment for all participants,” he added.
“The was a highly beneficial experience that provided participants with modern coaching concepts and practical methodologies,” said Abu Alhassan Hussein.
“I am confident that the knowledge gained during the course will have a positive impact on the future of Iraqi basketball and contribute to developing the next generation of coaches.”
