BEIRUT (Lebanon)- Two WABC Level 1 clinics were recently conducted by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia in Vietnam as a part of its efforts to boost development of the sport at the grassroot level.
The two clinics held under the aegis of the Vietnam Basketball Federation– first from Nov 9-14 followed by the one from Nov 16-21 – saw 15 participants in each clinic. WABC expert Safa Ali Kamalian was the instructor nominated by FIBA Regional Office-Asia for the clinics both at Ho Chi Minh City
"The content of the WABC level 1 course was very detailed and practical ways suitable for coaching young players, especially girls,” said Truong Thanh Thanh.
“The textbook is well-designed, combining both practice and theory, which made everything easy to understand. Overall, the course is highly beneficial and essential for any coach working with young players,” she said.
“The knowledge gained from this course will help those working in basketball training apply it effectively to develop the next generation of young players in Vietnam,” said Dam Huy Dai, a coach from Da Nang province.
“First, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Federation and all supporting units for creating this opportunity for us to elevate our professional expertise,” said Phạm Thanh Tung, a coach associated with the basketball program in Vietnam Air Force & Air Defence.
“Through each session, participating coaches have shown clear improvements in their mindset, learning approach, and communication methods,” he added.
“Being a part of FIBA WABC Level 1 coaching clinic was a very important milestone in my coaching career. This course was extremely valuable for me and for all the coaches who attended,” said Nguyen Tran Minh Trí, a coach from Nha Trang Dolphins professional basketball club.
“It helped me answer many of the “WHY” questions that I had not been able to figure out before. This course has helped me refine and strengthen my knowledge, giving me a clearer sense of direction for my coaching journey,” he said.
