BEIRUT (Lebanon)- The coaching development program under the aegis of the FIBA Regional Office-Asia took a firm step towards the next higher level with the conduct of a Tournament Coaching Clinic held during the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers in Krabi (Thailand) earlier this month.
Attended by coaches belonging to National Federations in South East Asian Basketball Association (SEABA), a FIBA Asia Sub-Zone, the TCC enabled the participants to observe games and integrate their analysis to apply coaching methods in a live competition.
Two women were among the 21 participants who attended the TCC which was conducted by WABC experts Dr. Koh Koon Teck and Nenad Hrvoic.
“The clinic had a good balance between classroom learning and practical sessions,” said Vietnamese coach Cao Tien Duy.
“I also enjoyed working with participants from different countries because we could learn from each other,” he added.
Brunei’s Benjamin Norman Simsaid: “I particularly enjoyed the practical activities because they allowed us to try what we had learned. Overall, it was a positive and useful experience.”
“The Tournament Coaching Clinic helped us understand coaching in a more practical way. I also appreciated the opportunity to meet coaches from other Southeast Asian countries and exchange ideas with them,” said Ratdech Kruatiwa of Thailand.
