SHANGHAI (China) - The FIBA China Youth Training Program's 'Her World, Her Rules Girls' Summer Camp' officially concluded at the PUSH Basketball Center in Shanghai Yangpu District, bringing together 124 young female players from 16 countries and regions for a week of basketball, learning and cultural exchange.
Held from July 12 to 18, the camp welcomed participants from China, Indonesia, New Zealand, Russia, Thailand, Canada, France, USA, the Philippines, Spain, Korea, Laos and Samoa, creating a truly international environment where girls could develop their basketball skills while building friendships across borders.
Throughout the seven-day program, campers were guided by a multinational coaching team representing Spain, Serbia, USA and China. The training curriculum focused on individual skill development, team concepts, and game understanding, while providing opportunities to compete and learn in both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 basketball activities.
Beyond the on-court sessions, participants took part in a variety of activities designed to promote teamwork, confidence and personal growth. These included fitness testing, yoga and Pilates sessions, a Dance Party, and Jersey Design Night, giving participants opportunities to connect and express themselves in a fun and supportive environment.
The camp also provided unique cultural experiences. Participants visited China's FIBA House of Basketball, where they learned more about the global game and FIBA's development initiatives. Evening excursions to some of Shanghai's most iconic landmarks, including Yuyuan Garden and the Bund, allowed the girls to experience the city's rich blend of history, culture and modern innovation.
More than just a basketball camp, the program embodied the spirit of Her World, Her Rules by empowering young women through sport and encouraging leadership, self-confidence and international friendship. The shared experiences on and off the court has helped create lasting connections among participants from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
The camp concluded with a closing ceremony attended by local district dignitaries, members of the coaching staff and more than 100 parents. The event celebrated the achievements of the participants and marked the successful conclusion of a memorable week dedicated to basketball, personal development and global friendship.
