Germany and Mongolia take down favorites on Day 6 of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2025

    Germany (men) and Mongolia (women) earned historic wins against team USA to take semi-finals berths on Day 6 of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup on June 28.

    ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) - Germany (men) and Mongolia (women) earned historic wins against team USA to take semi-finals berths on Day 6 of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup on June 28.

    TEAMS

    GERMANY (men)

    The young Germans do it again. 

    After a huge victory against the Dutch in the play-in, the on-fire Germany side took down an undefeated Team USA in the quarter-final. 

    Denzel Agyeman showed off his range in this game, going 4/6 from deep, drilling the finishing touches against the reigning 3x3 World Cup silver medalists to earn a 22-14 victory and their spot into the semis. 

    Despite their youth, there’s no doubt they’re one of the top nations in the competition and now stand just two games away from making history. 

    MONGOLIA (women)

    They did the unthinkable. 

    It’s been a Cinderella story for the side at home as they made their way to the semis, but they would go up against the reigning 3x3 World Cup winners in Team USA.

    No doubt their toughest test yet, the Mongolian women showed up, taking the fight early to the Americans and holding them off from getting going Star of the team Khulan Onolbaatar caught fire from deep as she put up 9 points for her side. 

    Time winding down, Nandinkhusel Nyamjav went to the line to seal the game in favor of the Mongolians. An 18-15 win, the biggest upset in 3x3 history.

    They’ll look to go all the way tomorrow with the semis against Poland looming large. 

     PLAYERS

    DENZEL AGYEMAN (GERMANY)

    Agyeman had himself a game against team USA. 

    Known for his incredible athletic ability and ferocious dunks, Agyeman all season has been showing seasons of becoming a top all-round player.

    It paid dividends for the Germans tonight as they went up against team USA who can match that athleticism. Agyeman showed he can shoot just as lights out as the opposition, going 4/6 from two, scoring 8 for his side. He bookended a stellar performance with a two followed by another that handed Germany a marquee win against the United States.

    ALEKSANDRA ZIEMBORSKA (POLAND)

    The lethal scorer from Poland has quietly been at the helm of an incredible campaign for her nation.

    She came out with a statement win tonight against reigning 3x3 World Cup silver medalists in France. She put up 11 points and 7 rebounds in a stellar game that led them to the win. 

    She will be tasked tomorrow yet again to take Poland all the way to the promised land.
