MIES (Switzerland) – FIBA today announced the launch of the FIBA 3x3 Team Performance Support Program, a new initiative designed to recognize the achievements of top-performing 3x3 basketball teams participating in the FIBA 3x3 Pro Tour circuit.
The Team Performance Support Program marks a new milestone in the growth of the FIBA 3x3 Pro Circuit. The 14th edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour in 2025 will bring the sport’s top teams to 15 cities across the world, continuing to captivate millions of fans worldwide. Following a record-breaking 2024 in digital engagement and fan growth, this program reinforces FIBA’s commitment to a sustainable and professional ecosystem where the world’s best teams can thrive, engage fans, and elevate the game on and off the court.
"This program is a key step in our strategic development of the FIBA 3x3 Pro Circuit," said Alex Sanchez, Managing Director of FIBA 3x3. "By supporting high-performing teams with additional resources, we are strengthening the overall competitiveness of the circuit and helping build the foundations for future Olympic success."
The The Team Performance Support Program will provide eligible teams with financial support, based on consistent engagement in the Pro Circuit and adherence to program guidelines.
This support is intended to help teams invest in continuity, logistics, athlete development, and outreach, as part of a broader effort to foster elite-level performance throughout the season.
Eligibility is extended to teams ranked within the top five in the Season-End Team Ranking. Based on the latest standings, this includes powerhouse teams such as Ub (Serbia), Miami (USA), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Vienna (Austria).
Participating teams will have the opportunity to take part in a series of promotional and community engagement activities throughout the season - ranging from coaching clinics and media appearances to fan-focused events. These moments not only elevate the visibility of teams but also empower players to connect more meaningfully with fans and inspire local communities.
“This is about more than just financial support,” added Sanchez. “It’s about giving the top teams the tools and recognition of their role as ambassadors of the game and leaders in the global 3x3 basketball movement.”
With 3x3 basketball continuing its rapid global ascent and now set to feature an expanded roster of 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams at the LA28 Olympic Games, FIBA’s new Reward Program underscores a long-term strategic vision: to build a sustainable and professional ecosystem where elite players are empowered to perform at the highest level, inspire new generations, and elevate the sport on the world’s biggest stage.
