Where Movie Magic Meets Basketball Brilliance
Cinema is often called the seventh art. It’s a magical portal that allows us to escape reality, live different lives, and explore new worlds. When you combine this with the dynamic world of basketball, you get an unbeatable combination.
"From the Court to the Big Screen" showcases a whopping 90 films from over 20 countries, spanning nearly a century of basketball in cinema. From the early days of black-and-white films to today’s blockbusters.
We have handpicked these films to give you the most comprehensive look at how basketball and cinema have bounced their way in society through love stories, education proposals, values, fiction…
Mirco Cussigh: The Man Behind the Magic
Meet Mirco, a renowned basketball collector and longtime friend of the House of Basketball. He has been instrumental in curating this exhibition. His collection of basketball-themed films is second to none. From posters and lobby cards to clothes worn in the movies and autographs, he’s got it all. And now, he’s generously sharing his treasures with us for this exhibition—just for the love of the game!
Fun for All
This exhibition is designed with young audiences and families in mind. Whether you are a die-hard basketball fan or just love a good movie, there’s something here for everyone. But more than that, we hope to ignite your curiosity and critical thinking.
Visit us at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball, bring your mobile, scan the QR codes, and enjoy the exhibition to its fullest.
The House of Basketball is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, offering free entrance to all visitors. For a more enriching experience, guided tours for groups can be booked by contacting houseofbasketball@fiba.basketball.

FIBA’s cultural heritage is the heart of the FIBA Foundation’s cultural and historical activities. It is one of the driving forces behind the promotion and dissemination of FIBA’s values. We preserve, research, promote and educate on the sport by managing and growing the FIBA collections, supporting National Federations to preserve their history, raising the profile of the FIBA Hall of Fame, and increasing and sharing the legacy of basketball.
