MIES (Switzerland) - NBN23 has had two products added to the FIBA Approved Software Program in a move that could help to further unlock the potential digital transformation of youth and grassroots basketball.
Founded in 2014 in Valencia, Spanish sports-tech company NBN23 provides digital content and products to support the digitalization of the grassroots basketball community worldwide.
This means that National Federations can operate the sport at a grassroots level with the same precision, visibility, and fan engagement as in the professional game.
Already rolled out in more than 70 countries globally, more than 2.5 million players and officials have benefited from their products so far - a number now set to grow after being added to the FIBA Approved Software Program. Additionally, this partnership is pivotal in strengthening and expanding the foundation established through NBN23's collaboration with FIBA Europe’s Hoops4Schools project.
Tested and endorsed by the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre, 'InGame' is a statistical tool for grassroots competitions, while 'Swish' is a player performance platform that allows users to follow basketball live stats, results, rankings, and much more from any mobile device.
With most FIBA Approved equipment and software aimed primarily at National Team and Club Competitions, plus other elite level national and international club and national team competitions, the distinctive nature of the NBN23 collaboration is that their digital products also apply to every other basketball competition.
Bart Prinssen, Head of the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre, said: "We are delighted to be collaborating with our new partner NBN23, not least because of the shared vision they have with FIBA to elevate global basketball standards through the use of technology.
"While their innovative digital products are used at all levels, it's particularly exciting to consider how they are being used to transform not only how grassroots basketball is organized, but also elevate how players, and especially young players, experience and consume the sport.
"It means that every player's story can be captured, every performance recognized, and every fan can follow the action in real time."
Meanwhile, Javier Bosch, CEO of NBN23, stated: "At NBN23, we believe every player, coach, and team - from the smallest gym to the biggest arena - deserves to be seen.
"Our partnership with FIBA allows us to bring that vision to life globally. Together, we can help every federation step confidently into the digital age of basketball, where technology doesn't replace passion - it amplifies it."
Launched in 2021, the Approved Software program, overseen by the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre, aims to connect approved software to various stakeholders throughout the FIBA Family, including players, coaches, team managers, referees and officials, competition organizers and National Federations. As members of the FIBA Approved Software program, each of these companies offers unique software solutions to the basketball community.
