FIBA and Dr. Dish expand collaboration to advance coach education and player development

Dr. Dish Basketball, an endorsed partner of the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre Approval Program, is expanding its global presence in basketball training technology.

MIES (Switzerland) – FIBA and Dr. Dish Basketball have extended their collaboration for another two years, continuing to focus on elevating talent development and coach education, while also supporting National Federations and clubs worldwide.

Dr. Dish Basketball first joined FIBA as part of the Equipment & Venue Centre Approval Program in 2020 with the goal of educating coaches, trainers, parents, and the basketball community on how to integrate the latest training technology, tools, and drills into their federations, clubs, camps, practices, and individual training sessions.

This current renewal builds on the success of recent collaborative efforts between FIBA and Dr. Dish Basketball, including Dr. Dish’s involvement in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2025 Coaches Clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland, this summer.

At the event, Dr. Dish Basketball delivered specialized demonstrations to over 250 coaches, showcasing advanced training methodologies. A series of coach-led warm-up sessions and featured presentations highlighted the integration of the basketball shooting machine in player development. These sessions provided coaches with hands-on experience using data-driven techniques and automated repetition to elevate training effectiveness.

Bart Prinssen, FIBA Head of Equipment & Venue Centre, said: "This collaboration is about our role to facilitate a positive change on how the global basketball community approaches player development.

"The Coaches Clinic held during the U19 World Cup served as an illustration of how collaborative efforts can offer coaches meaningful opportunities to engage with innovative training methods and gain practical insights to enhance their sessions."

And as basketball continues to evolve globally, both National Federations and clubs are increasingly embracing systematic, data-driven training approaches.

Justin Royer, Dr. Dish Basketball President, said: "Basketball at the international level has always been characterized by intelligent play, tactical sophistication, and technical excellence.

Through our collaborations with FIBA, our goal is to support and strengthen the unique qualities of the sport by providing purposeful training, motivation, and repetition volume needed to master complex skills, while preserving the high basketball IQ that sets players apart on the global stage.

"We are proud to be delivering training machines that are helping shape the next generation of sharpshooters - where precision meets performance," Royer concluded.

The Dr. Dish Basketball shooting machine has been a FIBA Endorsed training solution since 2020, as part of its partnership with the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre Approval Program. With the recent renewal of their two-year agreement starting in 2025, Dr. Dish will continue to align with FIBA's strategic efforts to drive youth development and empower National Federations around the world.
