FIBA and Bell Media agree to exciting and exclusive broadcast deal for Canada

    Press Release

The agreement is set to expand the reach of FIBA basketball across the country.

MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA has agreed terms with Bell Media's TSN and RDS to be the exclusive broadcast partners in Canada.

TSN and RDS broadcast across their network of services in English and French, and the new agreement provides an unparalleled opportunity to expand the reach of FIBA national team basketball in the country.

Through the multi-year deal, TSN and RDS will be the home of basketball, with all Canada Basketball games available across its national television feeds and digital platforms. The biggest games and other key fixtures from major FIBA tournaments will be available on TSN and RDS, including both the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027.

Canada finished in 3rd place at the previous FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023

The new agreement officially tips off in November 2025, when Canada faces the Bahamas in home-and-away matchups during the opening window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.

There will also be more Qualifiers to enjoy next year, when a host of basketball stars will step out for their country in pursuit of a place at the flagship FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Doha, Qatar.

Attention will also be locked on Canada when they participate in the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournaments next March as they attempt to become one of the 16 teams that will step out in Berlin, Germany for the main event in September 2026.

Canada women came 4th overall at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 - their best finish since 1986.

Frank Leenders, Director General of FIBA Media and Marketing Services, stated: "We are thrilled to have established a new exclusive broadcast partnership with Bell Media.

"It's a tremendous opportunity to showcase elite-level basketball even more actively to fans, and this will continue to help with increasing the popularity of the sport in Canada itself, while also fueling FIBA's key aim of growing the sport globally.

"Deepening and broadening the reach of basketball in Canada, fans will be able to access the highest level of FIBA competitions and regularly watch the biggest names in basketball on TSN."

David Bross, Executive Director, Sports Programming, Legal and Business Affairs, Bell Media, said: "With more star Canadian players competing at basketball’s highest levels than ever before, this multi-year agreement gives TSN and RDS the opportunity to showcase these incredible athletes as they make their mark on the game's international stage. The agreement also expands the slate of basketball coverage across TSN and RDS, providing globally focused tournaments that will continue to inspire the next generation of players and fans."
