LEÓN (Mexico) – FIBA is pleased to announce that the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2025 will take place in Leon, Mexico, from November 27 to 30 - marking the first time this landmark tournament will be hosted in Mexico.
This fifth edition of the premier 3x3 basketball competition in the Americas will bring together the top men's and women's national teams from across the continent, competing for regional supremacy in the most thrilling urban team sport.
The event will be held in downtown León, in front of the iconic Templo Expiatorio del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. This stunning setting perfectly captures the city's cultural heritage, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for the players and fans.
"Mexico has hosted several 3x3 events since 2015, including the FIBA 3x3 World tour, so bringing a national team competition to the country was a logical next step", said Alex Sanchez, FIBA 3x3 Managing Director.
“We are proud to bring the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup to Mexico for the first time in collaboration with Marcelo Politi. León is a vibrant city with a rich sporting culture, and we can’t wait to showcase our hospitality and deliver a world-class festival-like atmosphere for the local community and all participants.” said Isaac Noe Piña Valdivia, Sports Commission Director for the City of León.
In the previous edition, hosted in San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA (men) and Canada (women) emerged as champions, reflecting the growth and competitiveness of 3x3 basketball in the Americas.
The FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup represents a unique opportunity for National Federations across the Americas to showcase their talent on an international stage. True to the core principles of 3x3 basketball, the event will feature equal representation of men's and women's teams, competing alternately on the same court and in front of the same passionate fans.
