MUNICH (Germany) – Movistar, one of Europe’s major telecommunications providers, has secured the television broadcasts rights for EuroLeague Women in the territory of Spain, with immediate effect.

Spanish TV audiences will be able to follow the competition on two channels of the Movistar Plus+ platform, Vamos and Ellas Vamos, with the start of the 2025-26 season today and all through the Final Six tournament that is set to take place in Zaragoza, Spain in April.

Fans of Casademont Zaragoza, Valencia Basket and Spar Girona, the three Spanish teams that compete in the 2025-26 edition of EuroLeague Women, are especially fortunate because Movistar will broadcast all their games in the competition.

The agreement between FIBA Europe and Movistar runs through the end of the 2027-28 season, with the respective editions of the Final Six included in the deal.

Three Spanish teams are among the 15 contenders that aspire to dethrone reigning champions ZVVZ USK Praha

“The innovative Final Six tournament last April was a milestone for EuroLeague Women, capping a season in which the competition confirmed its status as one of the fastest-growing sports assets in the world with yet another leap in fan engagement and digital growth,” said FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak.

“EuroLeague Women is therefore a natural match with one of Europe’s biggest television platforms, and we are confident that our collaboration with Movistar will augment the competition’s reach and popularity in Spain, the host country of the first and the next two Final Six tournaments,” Mr. Novak added.

Movistar coverage will include the season-ending Final Six in Zaragoza

“We are delighted to add EuroLeague Women to our sports catalogue on Movistar Plus+, which is the most comprehensive on the market. Our relationship is excellent. We will offer it the same exclusive coverage we give to the men’s games and this competition will be featured in our programs dedicated to the best basketball in Europe,” said Movistar Plus+ Sports Director Enric Rojas.

The star-laden commentary team of Movistar Plus+ will be headlined by FIBA Hall of Fame inductee Amaya Valdemoro and includes Sandra Ygueravide, the Paris 2024 silver medalist with Spain’s 3x3 national team, and Silvia Dominguez, a three-time EuroLeague Women and three-time FIBA Women’s EuroBasket champion.
