EuroLeague Women celebrates another record-breaking year of growth

    The competition's popularity is reflected in unprecedented digital engagement numbers and fan attendance.

    MUNICH (Germany) - EuroLeague Women continues to go from strength to strength, building on another standout year marked by strong growth across key areas, including digital engagement and record-breaking crowds inside arenas.

    A memorable 2025-26 campaign delivered blockbuster entertainment and historic moments throughout, culminating in Fenerbahce Opet lifting the coveted title at the Final Six in Zaragoza.

    Fans around the world were able to get closer to the action by following the official EuroLeague Women social media channels on Facebook, X, TikTok and Instagram - contributing to more record-breaking digital success.

    Most notably, overall engagement continued to rise dramatically and climbed from 5.5 million to 7.6 million, an increase of 38 percent on the 2024-25 season. There was also an eye-catching rise of 40 percent for video views, which went from 120 million to 168 million.

    Impressions also jumped from 230 million to 256 million, while there was a significant landmark achieved across all social media channels as the number of followers surpassed the 1 million milestone - a number that has doubled since 2023.

    These impressive numbers come off the back of a 2024-25 season which was also record-breaking at the time, clearly demonstrating the sustained nature of the growth.

    The success of the 2025-26 campaign is also reflected in the multiple all-time highs set for the official EuroLeague Women website. Pageviews increased from 2.7 million to 4.3 million - a huge increase of 59 percent.

    Similarly, sessions are now chasing down the 1 million mark after soaring from 634,000 to 904,000. There was also an eye-catching 53 percent increase in fans engaging with editorial content on the site.

    In terms of website users, the most visitors came from Spain once again, with Türkiye overtaking France as the second biggest audience, followed by USA and Italy in fourth and fifth respectively.

    The official EuroLeague Women App attracted 8,000 new users and this helped to post an increased number of sessions from 220,000 to 260,000.

    The Final Six Effect

    The success of the Final Six in Zaragoza was also a key contributor to the digital growth, with specific numbers for the end of season showpiece also standing out.

    This included a 32 percent increase in overall engagement on EuroLeague Women social media channels from 2.5 million to 3.3 million, with impressions nearly reaching the 80 million mark.

    One of the defining storylines of the Final Six was the remarkable sell-outs at Pabellon Principe Felipe, with 10,828 fans filling the arena across all three gamedays.

    This was complemented by the introduction of the Fan Zone at the Final Six, along with exclusive limited edition merchandise and champions gear celebrating the participating teams and the winners.

    The Final Six attendances also provided a fitting finale to a season that delivered record-breaking figures throughout the campaign.

    The season average reached an all-time high of 2,607 per game with a total of 286,830 fans attending EuroLeague Women arenas across the season.

    It was a historic season for Final Six hosts Casademont Zaragoza, who not only secured the club's first ever podium finish, but also posted a remarkable average of 7,947 spectators across their 10 home games in the competition.

    Finally, this year's Final Six brought a surge in demand from broadcasters with a strong interest across participating countries and especially in host nation, Spain.

    There was unprecedented coverage on Movistar and Mediaset Infinity, as well as across regional channels Aragon TV and TV3. Other broadcasters included TRT in Türkiye, RAI in Italy - as well as France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine et NoA in France.
