    PIRAEUS (Greece) - The FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 co-hosts have handed over the baton to the organizers of the 2027 edition - Belgium, Finland, Lithuania and Sweden - in an official on-court ceremony.

    The symbolic handover took place during half-time of the Third Place Game between France and Italy to mark the look ahead to the next event in two years.

    FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa and FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak also took part in the ceremony.

    The representatives for the 2027 co-hosts were Vydas Gedvilas of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation; Anja Frey, Secretary General of the Swedish Basketball Federation; Timo Elo, President of Basketball Finland and Stefan Garaleas, Secretary General of Basketball Belgium.

    Meanwhile, Zdenek Briza, Vice President of the Czech Basketball Federation; Armin Andres, Vice President of the German Basketball Federation; Maurizio Bertea, Secretary General of the Italian Basketball Federation and Evangelos Liolios, President of the Hellenic Basketball Federation were the representatives of the current hosts.

    The co-hosts of the 41st edition were confirmed in November 2024 after Belgium and Sweden joined Finland and Lithuania, with the tournament to be hosted by four countries for the second time.

    The Group Phase action will take place across the cities of Antwerp, Belgium; Espoo, Finland; Klaipeda, Lithuania and Stockholm, Sweden, while the Final Phase played in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
