    Important Firsts

The confluence of competitive events and Basketball For Good strengthened in 2025. Reflecting the FIBA Foundation’s commitment to enhancing the social impact and legacy of FIBA Events, Basketball For Good activations were held for the first time at all the FIBA continental competitions.

Laudably, numerous Youth Leaders extended these efforts throughout the summer at various Youth EuroBaskets and the U16 Women’s Asia Cup, delivering meaningful community engagement alongside elite competition.

Reflecting the International Youth Day theme of "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," these Youth Leaders across different regions of the world have developed innovative solutions to shared challenges using basketball as a tool for positive social change.

From local courts to community centers, these celebrations highlighted the power of basketball to inspire positive change, foster meaningful connections, and create opportunities for people of all backgrounds.
