MUNICH (Germany) - FIBA Europe welcomed on Tuesday a delegation of the British Basketball Federation (BBF) that was led by Chris Grant, Chair of British Basketball.

FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa and FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak discussed a wide range of topics with Mr. Grant as well as with BBF Consultant Technical Lead Kieron Achara, and Great Britain star player Temi Fagbenle.

The meeting reaffirmed the close collaboration between FIBA Europe and the BBF. The main items on the agenda were the national federations' funding process, 3x3 basketball strategy and outlook both from a BBF and FIBA perspective, and the progress that the BBF has made in positioning Great Britain as a potential host of international tournaments and other FIBA events.

The BBF hosted the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2004, Division B tournament in Brighton and the 2015 European Wheelchair Basketball Championship in Worcester, while London, Manchester and Newcastle have all provided the stage for Great Britain's home games during the windows for recent EuroBasket and World Cup Qualifiers.

The FIBA Europe leadership duo and the BBF delegation also discussed possible developments in the international competitions calendar and future changes in the European club competition landscape, as well as a variety of Youth Basketball projects and initiatives.

FIBA Europe continues in 2025 its commitment to fostering ever stronger relations with all National Federations.
