BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia continued its efforts in furthering the development of the sport at the grassroots level conducting its unique Ball'In Schools program in Vietnam.

The four-day program was held under the support of the Vietnam Basketball Federation at Hanoi, from Oct 14-17, 2025.

The Ball’In Schools is a special initiative organised by FIBA Regional Office-Asia aims to give comprehensive support to the National Federations in integrating basketball in the physical education (PE) curriculum in schools across the country.

“The program has been an inspiring journey that reshaped how I view basketball, education, and leadership. It reminded me that great coaching goes beyond teaching skills -- it’s about building confidence, character, and community through the game,” said Nguyen Phuong Hoa of HNBA.

“My personal motivation is to grow the girls’ basketball movement, creating more spaces where girls can play, lead, and inspire others. Because when we empower girls, we elevate the game for everyone,” he said.

“The Ball’In Schools course helped me gain a much deeper understanding of how to organize a basketball event that truly engages the crowd, how to design age-appropriate drills for young players, and how to collaborate effectively with other coaches to build a well-structured practice plan for students,” said Nguyen Lam Tung of Vu Quan Vietnam Co.

The Ball’In Schools Coaching Course was a truly meaningful and practical program for those working in grassroots basketball. Through this course, I gained a clearer understanding of my role in community development and in building a strong basketball foundation for students. The lessons on teaching methods, organizing practice sessions, managing events, and inspiring young players were well-structured and easy to apply in real situations,” said Phạm Tan Hoang Nguyen - NYX Hue.

The Ball’In Schools program is truly meaningful and essential for developing school basketball in Vietnam. The course helped me broaden my perspective on how to organize, implement, and promote basketball among students in a professional, practical, and inspiring way,” said Le Quoc Y.

The “Ball’In Schools – Basketball Development Program” was a meaningful and inspiring experience for me. I learned many useful coaching methods that help students enjoy basketball more, and I also gained new drills and valuable experiences from other participants in the course,” said Hoang Duc Thao of Sentia School.
