BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia’s efforts to improve the technical level of coaching int the region continued with successful conduct of a WABC Level 1 coaching clinic in India.
A total of 15 participants, including 6 women, attended the course conducted last week (Feb 11-16) in cooperation with the Basketball Federation of India in the seaside town of Goa.
The week-long program started with classroom sessions, and was then followed by on-court work to help the attendees apply the lessons they received.
Former women internationals including Anitha Pauldurai, Shireen Limaye and India’s only woman player to play in a foreign league Geethu Anna Rahul participated in the clinic conducted by WABC instructor Arnika Patil.
“As an international player and an Arjuna Awardee, I am grateful to have completed the WABC FIBA Level 1 Coaching Course,” said Geethu Anna Rahul.
“I have gained valuable insights from this course, and I look forward to passing this knowledge on to the next generation, combining my playing experience with the coaching expertise I have developed through this program,” she added.
“The WBAC Level 1 course was a fantastic learning experience alongside renowned fellow coaches,” said Manpreet Singh Grewal.
“Although I had prior coaching experiences, this course has surely helped me structure my knowledge more effectively,” he added.
FIBA
