Annual FIBA Europe U14 Get-Together hosted in Bucharest

    The 2024 edition welcomed almost 400 local coaches

    The three-day event included the introduction of the Hoops for Schools program.

    MUNICH (Germany) - The 2024 edition of the annual FIBA Europe U14 Get-Together was hosted by the Romanian Basketball Federation in Bucharest, Romania.

    The event - which returned two years ago - was held from October 11-13, and continues to target the development of the future generation of players.

    There were 61 participants representing 35 different national federations, while there also 385 Romanian coaches welcomed to attend the coaching clinics.

    Nenad Trunic of Serbia and Finland's Hanno Mottola were the two FIBA Europe coaching instructors for the event as they conducted sessions on-and-off the court; teaching basic skills and looking at principles and strategies.

    FIBA Executive Europe Director Kamil Novak was among those in attendance, alongside Romanian Basketball Federation President, and FIBA Central Board and Europe Board member Carmen Tocala.

    There was also an introduction to FIBA Europe's new program 'Hoops for Schools' which had its kickoff meeting in Munich earlier this year.

    The FIBA Europe U14 Get-Together was last held in Estoril, Portugal in 2023 and in Durres, Albania in the previous year.
