VISIT THE NAISMITH ARENA 

    An unmissable treat and experience for any basketball follower or sports fan, the magnificent Naismith Arena at FIBA’s headquarters is a 1,000 square meter space where you can take an amazing and exciting journey through the history and evolution of basketball.  

    Offering a staggering 40,000 items of interest, this diversity of treasures preserves and promotes the cultural heritage of basketball. A must-visit for fans of all ages, you can immerse yourself in the heart of an amazing sport and here are just some of the attractions: 

    Basketball is Everywhere: Learn how it influences various aspects of everyday life and culture around the world, such as movies, music, fashion, photos, and books. 

    The Story of Basketball:  Take a trip back in time, from the very first wooden basket in 1891 to the stunning growth of the sport which has turned it into a global phenomenon.  

    FIBA Basketball World Cups and the Olympic Games:  We’ve got the biggest basketball competitions on the planet covered.  

    FIBA Hall of Fame: Explore the backgrounds and careers of the amazing individuals who have left a lasting impact and legacy on the game.  

    The Game:  In our interactive area, challenge your knowledge of the rules, test your skills, and even take a photo with the Naismith World Cup trophy itself.  

    FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre: Did you know that we have a specialized center dedicated to establishing standards for first-class basketball equipment and facilities?  

    Pedro Ferrandiz Library:  Visit FIBA's home to over 7,000 basketball books and magazines in more than 20 languages.  

    Special Exhibitions: There are sometimes events and themed displays. Previously there was ‘Stepping Strong’ involving 70 pairs of sneakers from the 1980’s onwards, as well as a cinema themed showcase. 

    HOW DO I VISIT?  

    The Naismith Arena is based at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball. It offers access for those with disabilities and entry is free for everyone. 

    It is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm and guided tours are available for groups and for schools via houseofbasketball@fiba.basketball
