A clear strategy has been established for the period 2023 to 2027, outlining specific objectives and a step-by-step plan for their implementation.   The fundamental values of basketball have been defined, serving as the foundation for our sport. With a strong vision in place, these values will now direct all of FIBA's activities.  

To ensure progress towards its goals, we have identified seven strategic objectives for the 2023-2027 working cycle. These will guide the organization as well as National Federations. We have also identified three strategic priorities. 

Empower National Federations

Aimed at strengthening and expanding the capacity of National Federations across the globe.

Women in Basketball

Since 2019, FIBA placed further importance on increasing female participation in basketball. After significant progress, the XXII FIBA Congress in 2023 extended this priority until 2027, with six specific goals supporting the priority.

Shape International Club Competitions

FIBA aims to create a club competition system around the world that is clear and consistent. By utilizing long-term formats and qualification routes, we ensure competitions and participation are based on sporting merit across all regions. This provides a clear pathway from grassroots to the international level for elite athletes.
