BAT 2214/24 (Rezkalla vs. Al Ansar Club) The Egyptian Coach, Fady Hany Sobhy Rezkalla, filed a claim against the Saudi Arabian Club, Al Ansar Club, for unpaid salary and interest. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

The Serbian/Canadian Player, Stefan Jankovic, filed a claim against the Taiwanese Club, Formosa Basketball Development Corp. (Formosa Dreamers), for unpaid salaries and interest. The Claimant argued to be entitled to his salary despite obtaining an injury as such was factored into the contract extension negotiations through the Respondent waiving its right to undertake physical examination. The Respondent insisted that the Claimant wrongfully assumed to be exempted from the medical examination and argued that the contract was breached by leaving Taiwan to undergo medical treatment overseas resulting in the Respondent not being obliged to pay salary. The claim was partially upheld.

The American Player, Tony Taylor, filed a claim against the Turkish Club, Karşiyaka Spor Kulübü Derneği, for unpaid salaries, unpaid bonus, late payment penalties and interest. The Claimant argued that the Respondent failed to pay two salary instalments as well as a bonus for winning a certain number of games without justification for the non-payment. The Respondent did not submit any legal arguments to support its position. The claim was partially upheld.

The Agency from Andorra, Regeneracom Sports S.L.U., filed a claim against the Spanish Club, Club Deportivo Ibaeta de Baloncesto de Donostia, for unpaid agency fees and interest. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

The Slovenian Basketball Player, Jan Rizman, and the Serbian Agent, Stefan Milijasevic, filed claims against the North Macedonian Club, DSD KK Kumanovo 2009 AD, for unpaid salaries, unpaid agent fees and interest. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

The Hungarian Club, Raabersport Kft (Sopron Basket), filed a claim against the American Player, Brittney Sykes, for special indemnity. The Claimant argued that the Respondent repeatedly breached her contractual obligations leaving the Claimant with no other option than terminating the Contract despite her central role in the team and to claim compensation for the damages caused by her contractual breaches. The Respondent argued that she had fulfilled her contractual duties and, therefore, the Claimant’s termination of the Contract was without just cause entitling the Player to receive compensation from the Claimant. Consequently, the Respondent filed a counterclaim for compensation and interest. The claim was dismissed and the counterclaim was partially upheld.

The French Agent, David Condouant, filed a claim against the American Player, Jamel Artis, for compensation for breach of contract. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

The Canadian Player, Davoe Jospeh, filed a claim against the Polish Club, Grono Sportowa Spółka Akcyjna, for unpaid salaries and interest. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

The Agent, Fenton Pete Mickeal, filed a claim against the Saudi Arabian Club, Ohod Club, for unpaid agent fees and interest. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

The Belgian Player, Hind Ben Abdelkader, filed a claim against the Russian Club, Basketball Club Zyryanochka (“NIKA”), for unpaid salaries and interest. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.
