FIBA works relentlessly in the battle against doping in basketball to achieve a 'Clean Game' in line with the International Olympic Committee movement and in collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Anti-doping tests have been conducted since 1989 at FIBA events and in 2009, FIBA started its own Out-of-Competition Testing program.

The Clean Game program started in 2002 using different means to raise awareness about doping, with a particular focus on younger players. The Clean Game brand has expanded its presence over the years, including being featured in video games and being endorsed by many of basketball’s leading players.

Despite a much stronger and evolving awareness of the consequences of doping, there is sometimes still a knowledge gap in terms of the dangers faced by athletes and the importance that should be placed on securing a healthy lifestyle.

Sometimes, the temptations must be talked about for them to remain only temptations.
