DEAF INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL FEDERATION (DIBF)
Sharing the same principles as FIBA, the Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) is the global governing body for international deaf basketball.
DIBF is an independent association composed of National Organizations that govern deaf basketball and works in partnership with the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) and its confederations.
DIBF is managed by a dedicated board called the Central Board, which includes the President, Secretary General, Treasurer and members. This board, predominantly made up of deaf individuals, brings together a wealth of management and basketball experience from around the globe.
DIBF strives to foster the growth and development of deaf basketball in all countries around the world through an organized program of education and instruction. They are responsible for organizing and overseeing all international competitions and championships in deaf basketball in collaboration with the ICSD and its confederations.
It also maintains a comprehensive record of the sport, documenting and reporting on all major international competitions from the very beginning. Their goal is to provide broader services to the deaf basketball community.
Basketball has experienced a growing popularity among elite deaf athletes worldwide. Several international and national basketball competitions have taken place over the years under the umbrella of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD).
DIBF is committed to expanding its organization and empowering the world of deaf basketball for years to come.
