    This milestone follows the impact and success of 3x3 basketball and 3x3 wheelchair basketball in the heart of Birmingham City Center during the Birmingham 2022 Games, where the sport captivated fans and showcased the skill of athletes from across the Commonwealth.

    The 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow will feature a programme of 10 sports and will take place across four venues from 23 July - 2 August 2026.

    The inclusion of 3x3 at the Commonwealth Games is the latest international endorsement of the sport and a reflects its surging global popularity.

    FIBA acknowledges the IWBF's efforts in promoting and developing 3x3 wheelchair basketball on a global scale, evidenced at the recent FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup in Vienna, where FIBA 3x3 and the IWBF tipped off a new era for 3x3 basketball after hosting the first-ever integrated running and wheelchair basketball Europe Cup.
