LOS ANGELES 2028 OLYMPIC GAMES
This will be held in July 2028 and will involve 12 nations. The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 will directly qualify seven national teams and the *USA as Olympic host nation.
There will be 12 competing nations with universality remains in place for the qualifying process for the Olympic Games, thereby ensuring that each continent is represented. The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 will produce seven directly qualified national teams for LA2028 and the Olympic host nation qualified directly*. The remaining teams will claim their tickets through the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.
A total of 24 countries are taking part, with 19 coming from their respective finishes at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, plus five who will advance via the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments. The respective winners of each of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments will complete the field for LA 2028.
