MUNICH (Germany) - A delegation of the Czech Basketball Federation (CBF) visited the Munich headquarters on Monday to discuss a range of topics with the FIBA Europe management duo.
CBF President Zdenek Briza led the Czech trio which also included Secretary General Michael Sob, and Jiri Welsch, who has joined the Czech Federation as a Board member after his recent retirement from action .
FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa and FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak provided their guests with an update on the latest developments in European basketball.
The two sides discussed the current geopolitical situation as related to the sport, as well as club competition matters and issues related to youth and women’s basketball.
The meeting had a special focus on how Czechia can build on its now well-earned status as an excellent host of FIBA Europe events.
Czechia hosted last summer one group of FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2025 in Brno, while the state-of-the-art arena in capital Prague was one of the venues in the group stage of FIBA EuroBasket 2022.
